TLT KANIKURGAN will enter into an experiment on the organization of unmanned cargo transportation between the Russian Federation and China

The KANIKURGAN customs and logistics terminal will be a participant in an experiment on the unmanned transportation of cross-border goods over the international bridge between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe in accordance with the memorandum of cooperation between the Parties and the cooperation agreement signed at the EEF-2021. The Agency for Project Initiative Development (part of the REGION Group of Companies), represented by Director General Valeria Repkova, the Agency of the Amur Region for Attracting Investments, represented by Director Pavel Puzanov, and the Directorate of International Transport Corridors, represented by Director General Alexey Petrov, signed the documents.

According to the report of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on the meeting of the Russian-Chinese subcommittee on cooperation in the field of transport, an agreement has been reached to consider the possibility of organizing an experimental unmanned truck transportation over the bridge crossing over the Amur River near the cities of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe. According to Alexey Petrov, the relevance of unmanned transportation in logistics has increased since Covid-19, and the task of the experiment is to create working technologies and a service for unmanned cross-border transportation that can be multiplied.

"We are interested in cross-border innovative projects and support the initiatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The Customs and Logistics Terminal already has the necessary infrastructure to start and test, but the implementation of this experiment also involves work on its coordination with state regulatory authorities and the adoption of the necessary legislative acts. It will also require the development of technologies, the introduction of innovations in infrastructure and the creation of an international integration IT solution – all this is a joint work that remains to be done," said Valeria Repkova.

Pavel Puzanov noted that with the support of the Directorate of International Transport Corridors, the project will become a pilot and such a model can later be used in other border regions.
