KANIKURGAN Customs and Logistics Terminal
The KANIKURGAN customs and logistics terminal is part of the development project of the transport and logistics infrastructure of the Far East and will be one of the largest in the region.
In 2019, the project company "Octet Invest" (part of the Group of companies "REGION") became the winner of the competition for the construction of the bridgehead zone from the Russian side. The project presents the KANIKURGAN customs and logistics complex – a complex of buildings and structures geographically integrated into a single whole, within which services related to customs operations with respect to goods, their transshipment and transportation deep into Russia and China, as well as a complex of related services are provided.
TLT KANIKURGAN is a universal logistics hub located on 18 hectares, represents a developed and modern logistics infrastructure that provides foreign trade participants with a significant effect from export-import operations. The TLT project includes: an automobile logistics terminal; a container platform offering storage and multimodal logistics within the country and abroad; a multi-temperature warehouse that will allow working with the Food, non-Food and Pharma segments; universal transshipment complexes, equipped with modern loading and unloading equipment (forklifts, reach stackers, cargo cranes); SVH and loading complexes are designed to work with various vehicles, which will allow you to accept and work with any tonnage.
As of October 2021, the facilities of the first stage have been erected, the Rosselkhoznadzor laboratory is ready for operation, the customs control zone has been equipped and equipped, the intelligent queue system for booking travel time through the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe bridge crossing has been launched and is being tested. After the opening of the bridge on the site amurbooking.com it will be possible to book travel time from Russia to China to avoid queues at the bridge crossing.
According to the temporary scheme, TLT KANIKURGAN is ready to let more than 60 cars pass per day. By the 1st quarter of 2022, when the second and third stages of construction of the TLT KANIKURGAN logistics terminal, as well as a permanent border checkpoint, will be implemented, the capacity will grow to 400 trucks per day. The project also provides for the possibility of a significant expansion of TLT capacities.
The Directorate of International Transport Corridors (Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation) has included TLT KANIKURGAN in an experiment on unmanned transportation of cross-border goods over the international bridge between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe. The task of the experiment will be to create working technologies, a legislative framework and a service for unmanned cross-border transportation.
TLT KANIKURGAN received the status of a resident of the Priamurskaya TOR, which will help attract active participants in foreign trade. According to expert estimates, the unique location of Blagoveshchensk between northeast China and the Trans-Siberian Railway creates the potential for the development of an international transport corridor with a cargo turnover of over 5 million tons.
The location of the terminal makes it possible to reduce the length of the route through Russia to European countries by 1.5 thousand km compared to the nearest points of formation of railway routes in Vladivostok and Ussuriysk without significantly increasing the mileage in China. Cargo traffic through the bridge crossing by 2031 may amount to about 719 thousand tons of imports and 660 thousand tons of exports. About 1.6 billion rubles have been invested in the implementation of the first stage of the project.
