The first stage of construction has been completed

On March 19, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev visited the construction site of the KANIKURGAN intermodal customs and logistics terminal in the zone of the border road bridge over the Amur River between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe as part of an official visit to Blagoveshchensk.

During the visit, the Director General of the Agency for the Development of Project Initiatives of the GC "REGION" Valeria Repkova announced the readiness to of the temporary scheme facilities of TLT KANIKURGAN and plans for the construction of a modern export multimodal terminal - the Dry port of Blagoveshchensk.

"The unique location of Blagoveshchensk makes it possible to connect the developed road network of northeast China with the Trans-Siberian Railway, which creates the potential for the development of an international transport corridor with a cargo turnover of over 5 million tons. TLT KANIKURGAN is already ready to pass more than 60 cars per day. We associate the full launch of TLT with the opening of an international connection between Blagoveshchensk and the Chinese Heihe. By the 1st quarter of 2022, when the second and third stages of the construction of the TLT KANIKURGAN logistics center and a permanent border checkpoint would be implemented, we will be able to pass up to 400 trucks per day. It is worth noting that the design solutions provide for the possibility of a significant expansion of TLT capacities," said Valeria Repkova.

Now, the first TLT facilities have been built and put into operation, which allow the terminal to operate according to a temporary scheme with a capacity of up to 60 cars per day. The construction of the main building of a temporary storage warehouse with an administrative building is underway. The design of the cargo complex facilities is being completed, the construction of which is scheduled to begin in May 2021.

"The customs and logistics complex will be one of the largest in the Far East. The project is implemented by the REGION Group of companies. The second stage of the program is planned to build a "Dry port" at the Berezovka railway station to ensure the connection of the project with the Trans-Siberian Railway, and the plans also include the creation of a modern container terminal," Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov said about the project.
